Tutor Workshop Saturday February 11, 2012

The January 28 Workshop was attended by 18 individuals, 13 are attending their second workshop session.  Our sincere thanks to all those who spent a Saturday with us to find out what Laubach Literacy is all about.  Thanks also to the CalVet Veterans Residence for allowing us to hold our workshop in their activities room, and the support from their staff.

Tutor Workshop of January 28, 2012

The January 28 Workshop was attended by 13 individuals with a variety of backgrounds and interests.  We are pleased with the level of response from a minimum of publicity about it.  Our sincere thanks to all those who spent a Saturday with us to find out what Laubach Literacy is all about.  Thanks also to the CalVet Veterans Residence for allowing us to hold our workshop in their activities room, and the support from their staff.

Tutor Workshop of October 22, 2011

The October 22 Training class was attended by 11 individuals with a variety of backgrounds and interests.  Several attendees already have experience teaching english overseas, or plan to teach english overseas in the near future.  Several current tutors were on hand to assist, one who is a professional speech therapist presented material on the importance of teaching English learners to listen to the sounds of English, especially those that are not typical of their own language.  Seven trainees completed both the September 24 and the October 22 training sessions and are pictured with their completion certificates. Thanks to the CalVet Veterans Residence for allowing us to hold our training in their activities room, and the support from their staff.

The September 24 Training session was attended by 21 individuals with a variety of backgrounds and interests.  Several individuals came all the way from Mojave and Tehachipi. We are pleased with the level of response from a minimum of publicity about it.  Thanks to the CalVet Veterans Residence for allowing us to hold our training in their activities room, and the support from their staff.
