  About LLVC

Laubach Literacy of Ventura, Inc.(LLVC) is an all volunteer, non-profit organization.  It provides free tutoring in English as a Second Language to foreign-born adult residents of Ventura County.  Both learners and tutors come from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life.  Tutoring is one-on-one and provided at a mutually convenient time and location for both student and tutor.  Tutors are trained in the Laubach method and provided with the Laubach Way to English study materials as the core curriculum.  Their focus is helping students meet their self-identified goals.

LLVC Began as an informal group of volunteers in 1970.  It was formalized as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit educational corporation in 1987.

LLVC is an affiliate of ProLiteracy America, the U.S. Programs Division of ProLiteracy Worldwide. Proliteracy America is the largest adult literacy organization in the United States, with more than 1,200 member groups nationwide.
